The impressive beer on draft selection, along with whiskey and wine offerings, complements the hearty entrees perfectly.

While Brandy Blazen noted a busy kitchen during peak times, the attentive management’s prompt staffing adjustments show a dedication to improving guest experience.

We went for happy hour and dinner. They also have rooms for rent. The ombiance is terrific, as was the BBQ pulled pork. They have a good selection of beer on draft, whiskey, wine, and a fireplace that would be very nice in winter. An excellent place for lunch or dinner in Laguna, San Diego county. Edit: We visited again and had the Route 94 BBQ Bacon Double Smash Burger. It was excellent, especially after hiking.
It was a nice drive to Mt Laguna. The decor was mountain themed with a bar and social living room. About 12 tables and a seperate place to order food. Menu featured a good selection. Food took over an hour for a pizza, nachos, and wings. The place was busy but the issue was only 1 guy in the kitchen. They got him some help and I could see food start coming out of the kitchen a bit faster. Food was good but priced a little on the higher side for portion size.
Great food and great location! I had the pulled pork sandwich with a gf bun. one of the best gf buns ive had. I sat on the back deck and it was a beautiful scenery.
I recently led a trip to the mountains with 150 college students. It rained, it poured, it was freezing… and so we meandered our way to The Outpost. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the kindest, friendliest staff. The service was impeccable, the drinks were hot, and the food was absolutely delicious. THANK YOU for saving our trip, Outpost—USD loves you!
Stopped by The Outpost by Valley Farm in Mt. Laguna after wrapping up a long week of work and it basically turned into an unofficial company party for Legacy Home Energy. If you’re working or living in East County San Diego and need a solid spot to unwind, this place is hard to beat. Great atmosphere, rustic mountain vibes, friendly staff, strong drinks, and plenty of TVs for football. Perfect spot to decompress after a full day of HVAC installs, service calls, or projects up here in Mt. Laguna and the surrounding areas. The bar setup is awesome, the selection is solid, and the whole place feels welcoming whether you’re a local, contractor, or just passing through. We do a lot of work throughout East County San Diego, and spots like this are exactly why we love serving communities like Mt. Laguna. Highly recommend The Outpost by Valley Farm if you’re looking for a laid-back mountain bar with good energy, good people, and a great setting. We’ll definitely be back.
Walked from Canada to Mexico and stopped here in the freezing rain. Some of the best food over the last 2,500 miles, and I've eaten A LOT in resorty type towns. The highlight, to my surprise, was the carne asada fries.
